Abstract |
The intention of this thesis is: To popularise and promote this form of recreation. Improve the present standard of boating activities in our waters, provide present boat-owners with the sort of facilities, both on land and in the water, that their counterparts overseas have and what they have been clamouring for right now. Provide training facilities to teach people especially the younger generations the fine art and knowhows of boating, maintenance, etc.; Provide a centre where local enthusiasts and experts can get together and pool their knowledge and knowhows for improvement of local boating and sailing. Provide facilities to enable members of the general public to come to the centre on weekends and holidays to watch the activities going on in and around the centre. This will help to promote this pasttime in many ways. Look into the possibility of having a series of these centres located around the island. In that context, a sort of prefabricated system of units is taken into consideration. |

Abstract |
The Government health services, with integration, are carried out on an island-wide basis. These services operate a network of major clinics, visiting centres and midwife stations throughout the Oity and aural Areas. For this reason the hexagonal units are standardized for ease of repetition to fit the diverse site conditions and to apply the repetitive principles of mass production so necessary in the field of industralization of buildings. The clinics are planned in stages to accommodate population expansion and the prototype permit the phase growth a complete unit in itself. |
