Abstract |
Terms of reference: 1. The objective is to provide a socially and architecturally viable district subcentre in Woodlands which, by making available new opportunities for employment, and by offering shopping services and entertainment and other facilities, including facilities for tourists from across the Causeway, will generate the growth in population of Woodlands New Town centre; 2. To rehabilitate the existing population of 5,000 and existing amenities; 3. To provide housing for an additional migrant population generated by employment opportunities in the new industrial areas; 4. To provide additional amenities required for the needs of the new population; 5. To provide a. good environment within the centre and the residential areas; 6. To provide a reasonable segregation of pedestrians and vehicles, including foo-paths to serve the needs of a community in all aspects of their living together, outside the house and place of work. |

Abstract |
The aim of this thesis is to explore the possibilities in the design of a Music Centre in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia; and to promote performance standard of local musicians and also to encourage and bring up a general public interest in classical music. The scheme will consist two main sections: Music academic school, where provide with lecture halls, classrooms, rehearsal studios, recital halls and library to foster the application and practice of musical instrument for gifted jroung musicians, as well as to provide facilities for orchestras as singers; Auditoria, used by the visiting musicians as well as by the student musicians and orchestras of the school in public performances. The auditorium will be mainly used for concerts, choir, operas, symphonies, chamber orchestras and instrumental recitals. In conjunction, ballet, plays and variety shows will also be performed in this auditorium |
