Abstract |
The thesis summarised the following points: It can be observed that the provision of living accommodation for nurses in most of the mentioned principal hospitals is inadequate, though there is provision for a minimum of one third and more, of the total nursing staff in each hospital. There are still complaints of inadequate accommodation, which has given rise to many problems, already discussed |

Abstract |
It is my intention to do research and study into this particular sector of the housing problem in the following manner: 1. To study present local patterns of living and isolate the needs of those who may require a different type of accommodation besides what is available; 2. To categorise the continually changing needs of people at different stages of life in relation to their work, play and daily requirements; 3. To plan for the various types of dwelling units within an integrated community with complete facilities for recreation, shopping, social clubs and communal services; 4. To propose a possible design solution as a prototype study for this nature of development; 5. To propose a realistic and workable scheme for a potentially promising site for this type of development; 6. To utilize maximum mixed zoning for an increasingly valuable property in a select location in the city |
