Abstract |
A new species of the pagurid genus Tomopaguropsis Alcock, 1905 is documented based on specimens collected during the PANGLAO 2005 expedition in deep waters (269–712 m) of the Bohol Sea, the Philippines. This new species, named Tomopaguropsis rahayuae, is the first record of a species of the genus in the Philippines region, and is fully described and illustrated. The most significant morphological character that distinguishes this new species from other congenerics is the symmetrical uropods. The holotype and paratype were found living in scaphopod tusk shells, an unusual type of housing for species of this genus. The morphology and affinities of this new species are discussed. An updated identification key to all species of Tomopaguropsis is also presented. |

Abstract |
A new highland species of the dwarf litter frog, Leptobrachella itiokai, is described from Gunung Mulu National Park, northern Sarawak, East Malaysia. It occurs syntopically with another highland species, L. brevicrus, but differs from it by a unique call that may be described as a chirp, with dominant frequency of ca. 10 kHz. The new species is morphologically distinguishable from congeners by the combination of the following traits: rounded ventrolateral glands usually not in series; side of body with small black spots; ventrum entirely dark-coloured with tiny light spots; male with thread-like lineae masculinae. |

Abstract |
A new snail species of the family Diplommatinidae is described from Perak, western Peninsular Malaysia. Arinia (Notharinia) micro, new species, differs from known congeners by its remarkably smaller shell. It is among the smallest land snails in the world with a mean shell height of 0.85 mm and mean shell width of 0.35 mm. The shell has tight radial ribbed whorls (except for the smooth protoconch), pronounced fine spiral ridges, and a semi-detached body whorl. |

Abstract |
A new talitrid genus Solitroides is erected along with a description of a new species, Solitroides motokawai, from the Annamite Range, Vietnam. Solitroides motokawai, new genus & species, possesses the simplidactylate pereopods 3–7: this is the first record of simplidactylate landhoppers from the Northern Hemisphere. The simplidactylate Solitroides motokawai, new genus & species, is diagnosed by the following combination of characters: innermost apical robust seta on outer plate of maxilla 1 leaning inwards; arcuate outer plate of maxilliped; slender maxilliped palp without lobes, its article 4 coalescing with article 3; oblique palmar margin of propodus on gnathopod 1 in female; large and folded coxal gill 6; apically setose oostegite 5; marginally bare peduncles of pleopods 1–2, and shortest pleopod 3 with minute simple setae on its inner and outer margins, each pleopod with developed rami; and rhombic telson with slightly cleft apical part. Additionally, nucleotide sequences of nuclear 28S ribosomal RNA and histone H3 as well as mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I and 16S ribosomal RNA from the holotype and paratype were determined. A key to the talitrid species recorded from Vietnam is provided. |

Abstract |
The Litoria graminea group currently consists of seven nominal species of large, predominately green canopy-associated treefrogs from New Guinea and surrounding islands. Here, we first describe a character that appears to diagnose this species group from the similarly large and green Litoria infrafrenata group, specifically nuptial pads comprised of relatively large asperities versus more numerous and tiny asperities. We then describe a new species of this group from the Wondiwoi Mountains at the base of the Wandammen Peninsula in Indonesian New Guinea. The new species differs from other members of the Litoria graminea group in aspects of body proportions, extent of hand webbing, colouration, and size and shape of the male nuptial pad. Discovery of this new species emphasises the until-recently overlooked pattern of multiple co-occurring species of large, green and highly arboreal Litoria in lowland and foothill rainforest areas across much of New Guinea. Over 40 species of frogs were documented in the vicinity of the type locality, emphasising the high species richness of forests on the Wandammen Peninsula. |
